While the Lois Lane character in this early show was more a prop than a character, she did have some moments where little glimmers of light came though in the depth of her character. While Lois needs Superman still, we see her in her first action role. While the train she is on is being attacked by train robbers, she picks up a gun at one point and starts to shoot back. Besides this moment, we also see her familiar inquisitiveness that has been center stage for the Lois Lane that we know today.

After dealing with a mad scientist in one film and another in the very next one, finally we see a villain, or villains as the case may be, that isn’t some how related to science. A gang of train robbers has their sights on train carrying millions of dollars in gold to the US Treasury. Lois goes on board to get the story and with in not too much time, the gang has begun their attack on the train. Soon word gets out and Superman goes out to deal with the robbers.

This episode feels a bit more like Superman should. Its fun watching Superman save the train after the bridge is blown up. The moment where the tear gas is hurled at him by the gang members seems a little silly, but he shakes it off. Over all, a slightly more satisfying tale than the two before.
